Sir Ian Rankin is a Scottish crime writer and philanthropist, best known for his Inspector Rebus novels. Many of the novels were adapted for television, with both John Hannah and Ken Stott taking on the role of Rebus at different times in the ITV series.
To date, Ian has published 25 novels, two short-story collections, one original graphic novel, one novella, and a non-fiction book.
In 2022 Ian received a Knighthood from HM Queen Elizabeth II for services to literature and charity as part of her Birthday Honours List.
