The world’s first supermodel, the face of the swinging ‘60s – Dame Twiggy is simply a cultural icon.
By 1967, Twiggy had modelled in France, Japan, and the US, and had appeared on the covers of Vogue and The Tatler, resulting in worldwide fame. After modelling, Twiggy had a successful career as a screen, stage, and television actress. Her role in The Boy Friend (1971) earned her two Golden Globe Awards. In 1983, she made her Broadway debut in the musical My One and Only, for which she received a Tony nomination for Best Actress in a Musical.
Twiggy remains at the forefront of style and fashion, more recently modelling for Marks & Spencer.
Here, in just a few strokes of the pen and with a touch of colour, Twiggy has effortlessly managed to capture her own style and grace. A real must for fashionistas and anybody with a keen interest in British cultural history. Ready, Steady, Go!
